Decision Time! We need your Vote for SeaCompression

Read all about the plan! Come to the potluck to discuss!
Burners of Seattle,
We do not assault your inboxes lightly, but we are at an important decision point and your input is essential.  Your Events Committee worked very hard to engineer a glorious SeaCompression for 2017 in SoDo - however, it would be expensive, and the only date available conflicts with another great Seattle Burner institution: the Deep Playa Equinox Campout.  Your Board has simultaneously discovered an extraordinary opportunity to make a long-term investment in a clubhouse / makers space / event venue.

Due to available resources, these options are, unfortunately, mutually exclusive. Neither can happen without your contribution.  We’re asking for your vote, but it’s not going to be as simple as clicking a button on surveymonkey. This is a do-ocracy.  We need your support and your participation. We are asking that you review the details of each proposal outlined in the attached presentation, then do either (ideally both) of the following:

1) Donate to INW through “Give Big” in the next two days. Your donation will be matched by the Seattle Foundation, and possibly again by your employer.  Include a comment which option you support: MONKEY BLOCK or FIREHOUSE. If your choice does not prevail, your donation will go to support Art Grants for SeaCompression rather than venue costs.

2) Get in our faces: Whether or not you are in a position to donate, please tell us what you will do to support your preferred SeaCompression – join the events committee, volunteer on production, talk to us! Your first opportunity will be at the Burner Potluck today (8 May) at 9205 Renton Ave S. Seattle, WA 98118 (More details on the FB Event linked).

OTHER TOPICS FOR ENGAGEMENT:

Fiscal sponsorship: Did you know you as an artist, or as a burner organization (e.g. camp, WA Arts Nonprofit, Burner-run LLC) can use INW's 501c3 status to solicit tax-deductible charitable donations?

Join the Grants Team: Support the amazing work being done here in the PNW.

How can we better fuel you?
